Here we are, all dressed up and out for the evening. Otto’s girlfriend, Sandy, has joined us. I had a poor experience on my last visit and am concerned we might run into Bruno the Bruiser again. He won’t have good feelings toward me after the incident in which he tried to cheat me at poker. He is a big shot around here.
Mitzi’s friend Saphira is still busy with the kittens, preparing for their performance at the Cats’ Collective concert. We are staying on for a few days to see the sights. The girls want to do some shopping, and Sandy and Otto have a couple of gigs booked.
Otto has decided to come over to Adelaide with us. I wonder if it is because Sandy is heading back there to visit her pawrents in one of the beachside suburbs. I asked him whether he would prefer to return to his family in Queensland, but he said they were used to him travelling. He is certainly into many things and makes me feel like a real homebody.

Just before we went out, a staff member brought in a message from the magic carpet. It was cryptic, and I wondered what had happened. The rug had cancelled our booking with it because it was heading off to a magic carpet convention in Egypt. I asked at the front desk and learned there were no magic carpets available.
Getting back home might be a problem. Cat transport is tight this time of year. A quick check on my mobile showed no vacancies by air, train or road. The desk manager is always most helpful, but in this instance, he was at a loss. Many other cats were also trying to book transport, and some had resorted to hiring cars. But now they had all been taken.
