We are up bright and early for the second day of training. I usually sleep in as I am often on patrol at night, but after all the strenuous activity yesterday I slept soundly.
Otto was poking at me gently with his paw. ‘Where am I?’ I asked.
But he didn’t need to answer. A fresh breeze ruffled my furs, and the scent of breakfast from the heaped tables in the dining section of the camp had my nose pointing.
Freya, Otto and I headed straight for the dining tent as the catering assistants pulled open the flap. The cat in charge looked at us sternly, so we meekly joined the queue to approach an amazing feast. There must have been every delicacy one could imagine. Except for the usual canned cat food that I ate at home.
After that, it was straight back into physical training. There was a special agent training session that Freya and Otto asked me to join, and I managed to keep up with them.
I was feeling the adrenaline flow with all this activity. You will notice in the videos that they refer to Otto as Shadow. That is his special agent name.
After lunch, we had a nap, then viewed a short film while relaxing on blankets and grooming one another. And it was back to more activity for the final session.
I realised I was entertaining two very special cats at home. Freya was an international coordinator of the feline environmental movement. Otto is also a notable feline.
Otto was awarded a medal for his work. He looked very happy to receive it. I felt my chest swell with pride.
