The females in the Yacht Club are all rich, as I would call it. No doubt some of them are much more well off than others. Not all these felines own mansions and islands, but they all have plenty of spare resources to decorate themselves as they fancy.
So, adorning themselves with jewellery is a popular activity. And, as Mitzi tells me, they can sit around gossiping to their hearts’ content. ‘Although,’ she says, ‘I try to keep it as polite as possible. Nastiness is not welcome in my group. Especially about other passengers. I think they all know that. Most of these ladies are so wealthy that they don’t bother too much about what any of the other ladies are doing. Their attention is firmly focused on themselves.’
I am not sure how polite it is to comment on them like that. But no doubt Mitzi is right. She is certainly the most quick-witted young lady that I know.
Candy comes to the jewellery session, of course. She is much more cheerful nowadays, and I often see her meeting new lady friends. It is the Ladies Who Lunch Brigade.
Chucky isn’t with her much during the day. She says he has to maintain his business as usual and can work on the ship. He has underlings to manage the enterprises, but he says that if he doesn’t keep an eye on what is happening, it will fall apart. He is often irritable, I find, but always generous and kind to Candy and the kittens. The kittens have a nanny in charge, so their daily needs are well catered for, while the adults can please themselves.
