Inspired by yesterday’s class, Otto insists that we book a private lesson with a professional human instructor at the City Branch of the Cats’ Collective training centre. They run all sorts of classes and programs for felines in a multistorey building in the heart of the city. The girls are happy to do more shopping, especially after they spied some exclusive cat boutiques yesterday, but didn’t have time to explore them properly.
Saphira is busy with the kittens, as usual, so Otto and I promise we will meet Mitzi and Sandy for lunch in the City.
After our morning workout, both Otto and I feel our skill level has improved considerably. We probably have no great need for martial arts in the real world, as our lives are usually uneventful, even tame. Otto might need to defend himself occasionally, as he is very active and participates in all sorts of things. I am unlikely to be caught up in a dangerous situation.
Lynette has always stressed to me that it is wise to use your reasoning powers first when dealing with awkward situations. I suppose I get a fair amount of training in dealing with at least one human daily.
Although no one could call Mitzi overweight, she always knows where to find the best gourmet dish and the best chefs at every restaurant. I am always guided by her when looking for a place to eat.
Sandy spends some time with us rehearsing for her next gig. She is a noted singer, yet relentless in her quest for perfection. ‘The perfect meow,’ she says, ‘is not even in the sound, but in the emotion it conveys. That is what my audience will hear.’
Her coach, the silver tabby Cecil, often travels with her and is also staying at the Cats’ Collective.
A note: these are all fantasy images, not real scenes, and they were created with AI.
