It was a rush to get to Sydney to see Otto off on the Sydney to Hobart. I wanted to support him as I think of him as my nephew. I wanted to stay home with Lynette at Christmas instead of rushing off early, so the magic carpet picked me up at dawn.
I had to get my own breakfast as Lynette was in a rush to get my things ready for the trip. I ate the dry food that was already in the bowl. She apologised as I was about to hop on the carpet and thrust some treats into my paws. I knew I would feast royally at Sydney at the Cats’ Collective before returning home, so I wasn’t too fussed.
Lynette managed to book me a space on the Sydney Cats’ Collective spectator yacht. I was fortunate as some unlucky cat had to pull out at the last minute.
I knew a few Sydney cats and didn’t feel quite alone on the yacht. We snacked on canapés before the race started, and then I was totally absorbed following the progress of Catastrophe and trying to spot Otto on deck. I shouted out good luck to him as they passed, but it was unlikely he heard it.
