I have invited my friend Freya in Johannesburg to join me for night possum patrol. It is a big job in spring with the possums bounding over the roof. I check from my front window to see when they run along the telephone wire. ‘Then I run to my outdoor room at the back of the house to see them off the property. They usually head down the garden next door and then jump over to my place. As it is spring now the leaves are shooting and the flowers are in full bloom. Lynette says the possums are already attacking neighbouring properties.
I am dispatching the magic carpet for Freya. I hope it will be a nice adventure for her. It looks like a long trip, but the magic carpet is magic, so it condenses time as you fly and it appears as if you have spent no time, except when there is something interesting to see.
