In preparation for the day, I am sleeping in the washing basket, ready to help Lynettea with the laundry. But now it is raining. Yesterday’s wash isn’t dry, so we won’t be doing any more laundry today.
‘Thanks for being such a great little helper,’ says Lynettea, nearly falling over me as she gets my lunch.
Then she shouts the usual string of commands about me not walking over her food or smelling or tasting it. So we are back to normal. Human gratitude never lasts for long!
