I was on the human’s lap, pacifying her while we watched TV.
After a while I got down. Then a cat meowed.
I sprang to the machine, fully alert.
But then I realized it was a trick. The creature was inside the TV and no threat. Several other cats appeared, but they didn’t fool me.
I walked out.
